Vim color scheme overriding background settings in Gnome terminal

I set my gnome terminal background to dark blue, with a bit of transparency so that I can see basic web pages or other documents when encoding.

I use the smyck color scheme, which seems to be my background as a background, so when I enter Vim it looks no problem.

my terminal window on top of a web page (my terminal window is on top of the web page)

the very same terminal window entering vim (same terminal window included in vim)

Recently, I decided to switch to a different color scheme. When I tested jellybeans, I noticed that he redefined the default background settings of my terminal, both its color and transparency, as you can see below.

the very same terminal window entering vim now with jellybeans (same terminal window coming in vim now with jellybeans)

I installed the AfterColors plugin, but I don’t know where to start setting up the color scheme to return the default background. Any recommendations?

In addition to the perreal answer, you also need

highlight NonText ctermbg=none

this will help make the other "nothing exists" area transparent.
