Gmail image links due to Google proxy

Links to images in gmail are broken due to Google Image proxy ( news1 , news2 ). I cannot upload images of my site to gmail.

Actual image path: http://sampleimageurl.com/images/logo.jpg

But I get the same image path as this in gmail:

https://ci3.googleusercontent.com/proxy/CUiMBo2ELdin8h5R_jKaarbsjQOZUXM3765smBK1PB4BsKq9EsVziwcOYFqjZqCkRDyu1jzoityEA_PJ=s0-d-e1-ftamplejhlog.pour_hourlj

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Since your image was not open to the public.

You need to make sure that the new Gmail proxy can get your image from google server.

In Google Apps, you can now disable Image Proxy for GMail (in the application settings). Or, better, you can whitelist the internal URLs for which you want to disable image proxying.

A study by DEGs confirmed messages from wordtothewise blogger, Laura Atkins, that "Google is rewriting links to images. This rewriting seems to occur during the delivery process. Previous messages that are currently in arent mailboxes show this tracking."

For global images, this means that only one user must open the mail and pull the images from the server. In the case of image tracking, each image file name is unique. Each new discovery will lead to the fact that Google will capture a uniquely named image. The result is that senders can track the first open, but after that it does not open. "

Two things that might help:

  • Use traditional image formats such as .jpg, .png, .gif (formats such as svg do not always work)
  • Make sure that there are no spaces or strange characters in the image path (check the server’s request logs. If it gives 404 for Google, this is probably a problem with the link format.)

Change the location of the image. In the new Google setting, when you open the image for the first time, Google downloads the image and caches it in the Google proxy.

I had the same problem and solved the problem of posting images on my shared server ( http://mydoamin.com/img/images.jpg ).
