What HTTP status codes are considered successful in jQuery.ajax?

The documentation does not seem to indicate exactly what is meant by “success” in jQuery.ajax. Is this any 2xx code? Only 200?

From the source code:

if ( status >= 200 && status < 300 || status === 304 ) { 

So any 2xx and under special circumstances 304. 304 has some additional processing, but check the source for more information.

You will find this in the completed callback. Success is any status greater than or equal to 200 and less than 300. Unmodified (304) is also considered successful.
