In IDEA, you had the opportunity to place the cursor on all lines.
Is this possible in Eclipse?
Eclipse 3.5 should have column mode (what I think you are asking about) - use Alt+Shift+A :

I have not tried this since I am stuck in version 3.4.1. There's a patch that claims to work on 3.4.0 ( http://tkilla.ch/column_mode/ ), but it doesnβt work for my 3.4.1 installation.
If you are referring to the ability to select a group of strings (e.g., all functions), you can use the schema view

From there, you can move / reorder / delete the entire block of text.
