IB Python API Sample Does Not Use Ibpy

Can someone help me figure out how to execute a basic query using the IB Python API? (I use the latest IB API and it seems to support Python, so I don't need to use Ibpy, which people used)

My code like this can just work and connect it to TWS. The problem is that I have no idea how to "see" a message sent from IB.
